Arts & well-being poster

After holding two visual arts workshop series with women who have experienced cancer, we presented a poster of our findings at the Canadian Association for Psychosocial Oncology Conference in Toronto.  Briefly, our research shows that being creative helped promote a sense of peace and engagement in the present.  Participants experienced "flow" or being in the moment and appreciated the opportunity to create alongside others who shared similar experiences with illness.  All participants wanted to continue art-making after the workshops ended.  Based on the positive responses to this work, we plan to offer more workshops in the near future.  Please email This email address is being protected from spambots.
